Head of Quality

About the Role:
The Head of Quality will play a central role in developing, implementing and maintaining quality standards across the company and around the globe. This is truly a cross-functional role that will partner with all departments at Augmedix to ensure a high level of quality and compliance company-wide, maintaining a “quality first” approach.

This role will monitor a variety of processes and domains (operational, business, technical, software etc.). A successful candidate must be a problem-solver at his/her core that can jump in any given process and provide guidance to make meaningful improvements to impact key company KPIs.

Main responsibilities:
  • Foster a quality focused company-wide culture
  • Define and implement Augmedix quality strategy, policies, procedures and standards
  • Establish and monitor quality performance metrics, set goals in collaboration with other departments and the executive team, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Present performance metrics and status of critical issues to executive team
  • Provide strategic organizational direction to assure that all quality-related gaps, current and potential, are identified and addressed in a timely and manner
  • Build partnerships with all functional areas (Operations, Training, Customer Success, Product, R&D, etc), providing guidance and support to improve quality and ensure best practices
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements; use of QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead, manage, inspire and grow the Quality organization

  • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of direct management experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a quality focused role; healthcare experience is a plus; international experience is a plus
  • Experience with process improvement, or scaling operational organizations with a track record of success
  • Experience in Technology Enabled Services; healthcare delivery (or a working knowledge of the physician mentality) is a strong plus
  • Experience in leading, coaching and developing dynamic teams
  • Self-starter
  • Deep understanding of quality metrics, how to measure them, and how to improve processes driving them
